I have a website www.wvfamily.org and have been working on it for this organization for sometime however, they are asking for a new look with a new logo which I have. Can anyone take a look and let me know if they have any ideas. If someone comes up with a new look that would be "family" oriented with maybe a banner at the top including pics of families I would be interested in paying someone. This has been on a volunteer basis and I am new to web creation so I would rather pay someone to create a new look or a template than try to rack my brain for new ideas. The organization likes the idea of the navigation being horizontal with a drop down stlye menu.

It would look alot better if u added a border to hold everything in right now its just kinda blocks put here and there like a unorganized website try taking the content and stuff close to the top banner and make the home and stuff links images that can be right close up to the banner.. i can make a whole template for you if u like when i wake up in the morning.. how much u willing to pay for a well done layout.

Firstly please calm down. Try to proof-read anything before you submit it...

Secondly, I agree that he shouldn't use tables but it is his site, his choice. Each to his own...

Tables are a fairly standard way of laying out a website CBG.

I don't know why you are directing that inaccurate statement at me...

The table html tags were designed to contain and display tabular data, not for structuring a webpage. That is what div, span, etc tags and CSS are for.

using tables in the way that you describe as "fairly standard" is non-standards-compliant.

i was not having a go at anyone as i am new to web designing and i thought the page was good and thats why i was asking how it was laid out.

im not here to slag other work off but just to learn and help people if i can!!!!!!!!!!!!!
