Graphic Design Contests

By no means am I a graphic designer, but I have seen some amazing work from those here.

I'm looking for a logo for my newly launched forum, Surfer-Talk.com. The logo should obviously have something in it dealing with computers and the Internet. Its design should match that of the forum (http://www.surfer-talk.com) and must use the following background.

This contest will run until Sunday, December 4 at the latest. I may stop the contest at any time if I see a logo that I know I want to use. If I'm not satisfied with any of the entries (unlikely), I will not award the $10. Please note that I cannot give you any .psd files and the format of the logo must be .gif, .jpg, or .png.

Hey man, I just quickly threw a logo together, I don't know if you are going to like it or not, but I'm happy to make any modifications to it that you may want. Also, I may be trying a few more designs for you!

Trenton, the Surfer-Talk.com text should be lighter (maybe even white) and the computer should pop out a little more (more vibrant color).

I'd also like a globe (for the web) somehow incorporated.

Okay, I took what you said into consideration and made a few changes. I don't know if I really like how it turned out, and it may not even be quite what you want either.

Still, though, I will be thinking about this until the contest is closed, and will be giving you more options!

Also, I couldn't find or create the best globe, so I kind of combined the two, so it isn't the best. Well, here it is:

You spelled "surfer" "sufer". Other than that its a pretty nice design!

I'm leaning towards the type of design TrentonD has going. I don't want to be confused with a forum that would discuss ocean surfing.

Still open to more ideas and designs, guys.

Here's some feedback on the designs so far.

TrentonD: The whole logo just doesn't stand out to me. The text 'Surfer-Talk.com' is still not bright enough.

Ickie: I'd prefer the text to be 'Surfer-Talk.com', as the other logo designs have. As you know, try to fit it in with the design of the forum and also add something that has to do with the Internet. I think you have an envelope (possibly for e-mail, but not what I'm looking for) there now?

madkad: Your text is too hard to read and doesn't have something in it that makes me think it's about the Internet.

Blakehil: Looking good. If you could somehow incorporate a computer, that would be awesome.

zemadz: My preference would to have something included in the logo that makes you think Internet surfer.
