Graphic Design Contests

Hi guys!

As you may have read elsewhere; PhotoJerk.com is undergoing a huge site redevelopment at the moment.

I'm looking for a banner OR logo to fit the site at http://www.photojerk.com/new.

The size and font do no matter to us at all, although it needs to replace the area currently as:
"PhotoJerk - Simple Image Hosting".

Please keep to the colour scheme of #336699 and #99CCFF and possibly #CCCCCC or #666666, and if you can make the Arial font work, then do so, otherwise, use whichever font you like best.

The winner of both the banner AND the logo will get a FREE photojerk premium account (worth $19.95), and a credited mention on the abouts page!

I like it, but the fading background would be hard to incorporate back into the design. The fade would have to continue throughout the design.

I guess so. I suppose I was thinking of more having the logo next to the text.. I mean, anyone can do an outer glow on text and draw a line under it :P

(Not that I dont like the design by the way!)

CannonBallGuy I like your design your off to a great start. A friendly suggestion on creating backgrounds, if you want a gradient background you need to let if fade out before the border of the banner or logo so it does not look cut off and can blend in with the background color. I look forward to your next submission.

It ends as soon as we find one we like, so the sooner your design is posted, the better!

I really like bitzerotech's, although I don't like the "simple image hosting" part

Yes, thanks. I did try to do this, you will notice it does fade out a little at the edges.
I found it difficult though because there is no option for the gradient overlay to follow the same of the object, as there is in Macromedia Fireworks. I did try to feather, but that option was greyed out in the menu...
Any ideas?

CannonBallGuy more then likely the reason the feather option was greyed out was due to the layers you had in you image. Sometimes when I get confused with to many layers or restraints on layers, I create a larger white canvis and merge the layers and drop the layer to the white canvis and feather it out that way or use the same color background spray and go around the edges. Hope this helps or even makes sense.
