Contest Closed
This contest is for a web and t-shirt logo.
I need three separate images. A small graphic 120X120 (smaller file sizes are better) a larger graphic for front of a shirt 2X2" (hi resolution) and larger t-shirt graphic 8X10".
Animals to include. scorpian, snake, or eagle.
And should say Fastamber.com I'm partial to this font for now STSong but you can create anything you want.
They can be three different logos or different scales of the same.
About the site.
It's going to be a large portal site for niche audiences and the general public. I'm not looking for a corperate type logo at this point.
This contest will start today and run until february 1st. The winner will recieve $50 in exchange for rights to the graphic.

Sounds like a good contest but I'd like to hear a bit more about your target demographic and perhaps a few more keywords & color concepts to work with. Are you looking for tech, fun, edgy, rustic, etc...?
Also, having a hard time locating the STSong font, if anyone has a link to it please post.

I don't know if STSong is a mac font. It's in FrontPage so I assumed it is in windows if you don't have it in your graphics program just use something else. That's just a personal prefference for me.
Edgy might be a good way to go. I'm looking for something that looks magickal. These aniamls are related to the 8th house (scoprio) It's not an astology site(I will have some sections on astrology) but I like the ideas behind what the animals represent.

It's kinda cool in a coffee shop sort of way. I'd consider it for a t-shirt design.
I'm shooting for a bit more realism in the image. Any entries.

Webspace, when you say realism, what do you mean? A bit less like a cartoon? Do you want a photo?
I suppose there aren't many rainbow coloured scorpions

How about this for a start:

I have it all as vector art so it will scale up to the bigger sizes. I've yet to thicken up some lines and add some shading, plus a row of legs on the opposite side...

just a quick 2 cents here....if you want the logo for both web and t-shirt shirt design...be careful how carried away with colors you get in the logo...for the web it's unlimited...but for a screen print...the more colors the more money it will cost you...I am a screen printer and if your order for shirts isn't for more than 1000 pieces your set-up costs will be very pricey especially if you decide to go to a 4cp print....we see this all the time...someone who uses every crayon in the box for their design only to find out it's $25.00 per hour for art and separations and $15.00 per screen(per color) for the set-up...

How about going hog wild on colours for the web and then making a black and white outline/lineart version for t shirts?

Okay I think this is ready to be moved on to the 'tweaking' stage.

The first is a screen grab straight from the vector art, the second is the same image with some smudging of the colour boundaries. Depends which you prefer but the first will be fractionally easier to modify and rescale.

T-shirt tranfers

I'm not going to use a silk screen. I'm going to use transfers that puts them at about $1.00 per shirt. Maybe less if I buy bulk. So I'm not really concerned about the colors the colors. I don't like silk screening, it's a really outdated method.
gringo I was thinking about the rainbow thing and it is true if you put a scorpion under a blacklight it glows. Scientist speculate that it is something in the exoskeleton that helps the scorpion cope with UV rays from the sun.
Here's a good photo http://www.public.asu.edu/~bbackes/images/scorpion2.jpg
0beron that's looking good. I'm a bit concerned about the anteni.
Any other entries?

That's a pretty cool site too. That's the most posts I've ever seen on a bb.

We can lose the antennae if you want. Feel free to request any changes. Now that it's drawn I can recolour it relatively easily. I can change the font around too (I used Garamond).
