Hi,

I'm trying to create some banners for my site notsounknown.co.uk. I did want to use the logo on all, or most, of these to help build the brand. However, it doesn't seem to scale down that well, you can't really see what it is.

Here is the logo http://www.notsounknown.co.uk/logo_print.png

Perhaps you can make some suggestions as to how I could change it, or produce something similar that could help me build the NotSoUnknown brand.

Hope you understand what I'm getting at here!

Thanks for any help
Simon

I don't see anything wrong with it....It should scale down fine. maybe change it to a jpg before attempting to scale...

Depends on how small you need it for your banner.. What size is the banner you want to use?

I've reduced it down to 156x100 and it looks ok but if you go further the text gets hard to read.. too squashed up around the n.co.uk bit. Is that what you mean?

Yes, thats what I mean. The majority of the banners I want to use will be 468x60. But even with larger sizes (boxes etc) I don't want the logo to take up the whole thing - unless animated.

I have attached an example of how it looks scaled down into a 468x60 banner - unreadable (without squinting!).

I have, however, just bought www.thensu.com which is redirecting to www.notsounknown.co.uk - I guess I could make a logo with thensu.co.uk on instead of the full name, however I'd prefer to do somethign with the full name.

What if you do a variation of the logo. Since you bought thensu.com, you could do a logo with just the letters "NSU" (kind of like you did on your site for NSU podcasts). Then next to it to the right, or underneath the logo, you could spell out the whole site. That way, you get your name across while still emphasizing the "brand identity" with your headphone logo style.

I guess I'll have to go with just NSU in the logo for banners etc. That has the branding.

Or, I can add the and .com as I have thensu.com which redirects to the full url.

I think I'd like to include the full name on the banners too though, as it's the whole idea behind the site... Not So Unknown - i.e. we help unknown bands get some exposure and recognition.

Thanks for the input guys

You could use the plain "NSU" logo like Jake made, then put "Not So Unknown" either to the right of it, or underneath it.

Yeah, thats an idea.

I think I'll just have to have a play around and see what I can do.
