Anyone interested in a traffic contest?

Here's what I thought, $10 to first ten entries, then $100 prize to the winner.
I'm trying to get good listings in my directory and thought it would be a fun way of getting some interest. I'm not very keen on SEO type contests as a rule because its a winner takes all thing, someone could put a lot of work in and get nothing.
So I'll try and make a contest thats a fair for all concerned

Some rules:
Ten entries who get $10 for taking part.
Winner with most impressive traffic gets $100
Ten entrents pick the winner I get casting vote.
Winner agrees to tell how they did it
Eveyone paid by paypal

If there's anyone interested I'll firm up the rules and sort out a start and end date.

Sounds interesting. I have never entered a SEO contest before, but would like to have a go...
I just have to create a web page and get as much traffic to your site as possible, anyway I like?

Hey cannonball guy, Thanks for your interest, It's not really a SEO contest.
You would simply add a listing to my directory then scamper round the internet getting links to your listing. That way you are driving traffic to a page on my site thats all about your site. I would really like ordinary folk to have a go because it could make some interesting stats and could be good fun.

I'm just finishing a script so everyone can see traffic stats from all listings, so it's totally transparent.

And remember I'm giving $10 just to take part

This is the project directory when you list you get a full page like this:

There's a hit counter at the bottom referals for each project page are collected and I can pay you through the tip collection or donation links.
Wonpk, The links one is just for swapping with any old sites (with no follow attribute)

How long should I run the contest for?
1 week
2 weeks
4 weeks
I'll start when we've firmed up the rules, eveyone knows what to do and I have ten entrents, Just nip over start a project and e-mail me to be included.
I'll post back here with updates. (When all ten have made a listing I'll send entrants $10)

I joined... And which URL should I seo on? Not really understand the tactic in the directory though... Sorry for my stupidity...

From what I know here, is... We submit a link in the directory, and promote the directory link to our URL?

this is the page to send traffic, you will need to put some content on your listing though. Login and click the edit my profile link from here you can use the text editor to put some content and add links.
you can put links to your site or just say your in the competition. If you drive loads of traffic you should get benifit from it, you can write pertty much anything you want on your listing page. self promotion, advert, links.

Hello everyone!
I just joined this forum and came across this post right away. Needless to say, it sounds rather interesting! I am fairly new to all of this and thought that this may be an interesting way to generate some traffic to my blog. http://www.donate-a-mate.com/dam/member.asp?uname=MJ And the $10.00 is icing on the cake! Of course that doesn't really matter to me as much as seeing what kind of traffic will come from this!

There's a text editor, like adding to forums (You can't put html in direct but you can do all the html stuff with the editor)

Raggoo: Register at the site so that you now have you own page their, copy the link to that page and get everyone you know to click it.

The person who had the most visitors to their page at the end of the contest can win.
