Agreed - It's highly frustrating.

I know it's more to maintain, but for some other sites the contest starter firstly goes through a moderator/adminsitrator. It is the moderator that then posts the request. Certain questions have to be answered such as target audience, impression to acheive etc.

I'm not sure if there's a fee for that.

One other idea would be to charge a small deposit to the contest owner, then return that once a winner (from this baord) has been chosen.

All takes time and work though.

Sitepoint.com has a fee of 10$ to post a contest.

That is why I don't do work here anymore.

Plus, the average prize money is much more.

This forum doesn't have the population to support a large contest forum, though.

Dunno.

I'm wondering if Kois55, the OP, is still alive.

If he /she started this contest and can't be bothered coming back to give a decision on the work people have gone to a lot of trouble to provide to meet his /her request (we didn't force him / her to start this contest), then frankly I couldn't care less if she / he drops dead in the near future.

Being heartily sick of clowns who start contests and then disappear into the ether, I've PM-ed the OP asking why he / she hasn't posted.

Let's hold our breath and see when he / she posts.

(If you start to turn blue, this is not a good sign and you should stop holding your breath.)

After emails with www.xtremeuploader.com/ which I mentioned earlier I've apologised to them for thinking it was their contest and they understand why I thought it was. It's not their contest.

Seems most likely to be http://www.x-tremeupload.com/index.php , which certainly has had some problems with its claimed W3C validations which don't validate and its Halo account which is suspended. Not a bad achievement for a domain name which was created exactly one month ago.

At least I can see why they might have wanted a better design for their site, as will anyone else who has designed a site which can actually be read.

So I've emailed them to see what happens, being seriously pi**ed off with time wasters.

At the moment I'd rather waste my time annoying contest starters who won't pay rather then doing designs for them, not least because it takes hardly any time to annoy them against a lot of time to design a site.
