Graphic Design Contests

Hello everyone. I need a website template for my website. You can make it in any format. HTML, PHP, ASPX, what ever. I would like the banner to say "X-treme Uploader". I would lke the sub-title to say "100% free file hosting at unlimited space!". The color of the template is up to you. I want there to be buttons titled "Home", "How it Works", "Terms of Use", and "Customer Support" in that order. There is a $150 reward through PayPal!

I have something to enter into this contest. It's coded using HTML and CSS but alas, I couldn't connect to upload it to my site via FTP so the best I could do was take a screen print.

The darker text is shown to display a link when rolled over. The login area isn't coded yet, that's the only piece. It's just there for example of what could be in that area.

The image looks small here and poor quality so click it for a larger view.

I forgot to say, the HTML on the page validates with no problems at all.

Ps, the quality of the large image still isn't too great, please remember it is just a low quality screen print.

Here's my attempt. I didn't want a lot to go on so I gave it some nice 3D effects and tried to keep it as simple as possible. I wanted to consider people who have a 56K connection so the loading time wouldn't be long.

It's coded in HTML and a CSS document. I left that header on the top right corner blank in case you wanted to add in those Google ads (knowing how this will be a hosting site and most of them have one).

I can add more of those bars with any more text if you need them as well. When you hover over them the text 'glows' as shown in the third screenshot along with some text in case people don't see the image.

If there's anything you need changed let me know and I'll be more than glad to customize it to your liking.

Edit: I re-did the template and tried to make it more 'full':

There have been some good designs offered without any response from the OP within the very long time one would have expected from someone who is genuinely interested in buying a design.

Accordingly, the earlier link to my design won't show anything likely to appeal to the owner of http://www.xtremeuploader.com/ , assuming that it's the site the design was intended for, or the owner of any other site who asks for a design but can't be bothered treating with proper courtesy the people who have responded to his or her request.

Having people start contests and then disappear is pretty common here.
I'm sure some just forget they ever started a contest, though I'm also pretty certain that some don't like the designs, or just don't want to pay anything.
This is why I always try to remember to slap a "CBG" across my designs, to make it difficult for them to be stolen.
I recommend that everyone webmark their work like this in case the contest starter does is dishonest.
I'm hoping that Kois55 is not like this, but it's always better to be safe than sorry, right?

I'm new to contests here but not elsewhere, so I'm familiar with what you said.

I'm just sick of the ridiculous number of time wasters who put up threads they have no intention of going through with, or who lose interest when they don't get a $20,000 exquistely tailored design with bells and whistles for $150.

I don't bother putting "Sample" etc on my designs because it's easy enough to duplicate a design without the code, although I do put my submissions up as an image on a website rather than a working website with code - no point making it too easy for them. Still, if a shyster is looking to rip off a design they can do it once they see a design they like. Probably by taking a screenshot and starting a contest on another site for code!

My problem is simply that I think contest starters ought to treat entrants with the same courtesy that entrants treat the rude tools and rip-off merchants who start a lot of contests that go nowhere.
