Graphic Design Contests

Hello,

I apologize if this sounds cheap, but my budget is $250.00 (CDN) = $225(USD today's quote).

Would like to offer a contest for Logo \ Banner \ Site. Contest will run until June 1st, 2006. I will own all rights, once payment is made in full via PayPal. Happy to leave design link on site for benefit of artist for one year on the main index page or create permanent link on the about us page.

If willing to take on this challenge, create a one page template with logo graphic & page outline and submit for my approval.

*** If chosen as the winner you will be responsible for completing the site (The site will have 5 pages; Index, Services, Support, Contact & Self Help) and graphics (2 - banner & logo). ***

Color scheme: White background with Blue colour scheme.
Type of design: logo 2" x 2" & typical top banner size.
Page Desired size: 1024 x 768
Page Desired font: User choice

Other relevant information

If possible use CSS so that I may customize menu's in the future.

I could also split up the graphic's like $75 and $175 for the site? let me know what you think...

The site would just be a copy of the index page with the menu hightlighted a different colour and maybe the page title description being different.

I hope you guys will understand, but there are many people who rip-off others, whether they try to or not. It might be subtle, or it might be blatent. But if I posted my design, I bet we'd see a bunch of similar, if not very similar designs in the future.

TrentonD, your portfolio looks nice, so this really isn't directed at you. I think if we all just do our best work, it will not only make the contest more interesting, but it will offer more quality pieces of work for sirstox to choose from.

JoeyMan, you need to compress your images. They are over 1.5MB each! This eats up bandwidth and discourages viewers. I would be willing to bet you could get that image under 150KB with any kind of image compression software, Photoshop or another (FREE) app.

I am interested, and I'd like to work on it and earn some money. But on the other hand, I don't want to waste my time on a design that is found out to be not needed? Do you need PHP coding, if not, I'm happy to try.

What I actually looking for is an original template and logo that I can customize, in the future. LayoutVisually stunning comes to mind, but not over powering?

No PHP... The site will be on a unix server, in other words it will be straight HTML, with CSS modifications (menu's). I am planning on adding RSS feed and DHTML to the final product.

Hey, I might start in a few hours. I am a little concered about the 'size' you want for the website, do you mean an actual layout at 1024 x 768 or do you want a layout that fits full screen of the browser, stretched horizontally as possible? Or do you just want a layout that looks best in 1024 x 768?

Hey sakr, I appreciate the comment. Your design looks very nice, I dont know whether I will have the time and skill to get this done on time, so I dont know if I will enter or not :S.

But to JoeyMan:

Whatever program you are using, try saving the file as a .jpg or .gif. I use .jpg's about 95% of the time.
