Computer text graphic - Please Help.

Hey everyone,

For some reason all the bold/large text on my compute, including sites, looks very sharp (edges are square). What I mean is it doesn't blend in with the background. Here is a sample below;


Here is a better picture. Compare it to your text on this forum.

Please tell me how I can fix this problem.

If You Are Using Photoshop, You Can Select Strong, Crisp, Smooth etc. For Text, I'm Not sure How you would do about fixing this in html etc. although i imagine there is a way...

Not exactly sure if this'll work but I think I remember something like this before.

Try going to your display properties (right click > properties) on your computer. And then click the Appearance tab, and click the EFFECTS button. Then, where it says "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts...", set it to ClearType.

Hopefully it helps :-/ Not sure though.

I can't thank you enough. It fixed the problem.

However Vicki it should be "Standard Type" not "Clear Type"

Oh really? Haha well mine was set on ClearType and it still looks fine. I guess both work. I'm glad I helped

Clear type is designed for LCD monitors while standard type is designed for CRT monitors.
