Hi everyone, the winner will be determined via voting on Hoopieworld.com's forum. If that is against the rules here, please remove. You can post here and I can manually put them on the forum on Sunday or you can email me directly at support@hoopieworld.com

Here are the details of what I need:

1) The banner needs to be "skinny" and "wide". I'm looking for something around 765 wide, and no higher than 100 tall.
2) The background images can be copied from images of past incidents on the site or you can use your own. Please don't use copyrighted material from other sources. Just let me know which ones you picked so I can give proper credit to the original photo taker.
3) Text should include Hoopie World at the very least. If you can incorporate "The Premier Whacker Site of the North Hills of Pittsburgh (and Beyond)" that would be great, but not necessary.
4) I'm excited to get this new layout rolled out, so I'm going to put a preliminary deadline to submit by Sunday July 30th, 2006 by 15:00 hrs.
5) We will have a public vote via the forums to narrow down the entries, and then vote again on the finalists. I will have the final say, but votes will be a HUGE factor in determining the final winner.
6) The author of the winning banner will receive $50 from Hoopie World.
7) The new color scheme of the site will be red, white and blue. The html colors are #000066 and #B00000
8) You can submit as many entries as you would like.

edit: is this an advertising banner, or just a header for your website?

Yes, it can be animated.

I am currently redesigning the layout and site, so the banner/logo I'm looking for will be an actual header on every page.

Sorry, I should have provided that.

Hoopie World is a firefighting news/information site, that started in a few suburbs of Pittsburgh and has grown to include the whole Pittsburgh, PA and surrounding areas. I recently took over ownership in May and I'm looking to give it a facelift.

All three so far are excellent. I will be posting them on my forum for a public vote to narrow all the entries down to 3. I will then put up the 3 finalists again for a final vote. I do have the final say, but will be relying heavily on the votes as to not cause an uproar in the community.

Commando, submission deadline is Sunday 3pm eastern time, voting will start as soon as I get the submissions posted on Sunday, so around 3:30pm. We are still deciding how long to run the voting period, most likely it will last for a week to give everyone a chance to see them and decide.

I like how the votes on these banners isn't completely accurate [or rather; fair]. Their voting off their 'own' images and whether or not it has their house image. It sucks to be voted on content, and not artistic ability.
