Definition of a Vector image: A graphic image with curves and lines defined by mathetmatical forumlas. Images created in Illustrator and Freehand (graphic design software) are vector graphics, used for print. They are usually exported to be bitmap images for use on the Web. Yes but then what the point in saying it is unless you created the logo ONLY using vector shapes.

Guys, I have some unfortunate news.

It has come to my attention that this contest was started here recently. I ran a contest for my website, GrowStronger.com, on SitePoint.com a little while back. The winner was declared and we were very happy with the results. I no longer need a logo. My username at SitePoint is cmr924 as well.

What makes this much more sketchy is the fact that I am NOT the registered username GrowingStronger. This is completely bizarre! I signed up with this username with the E-Mail address admin@growstronger.com, and I will prove my ownership of GrowStronger.com otherwise if need be. In fact, the entire description was ripped off of my SitePoint.com one instead of the prize money amounts.

I guess the contest can continue, and whomever GrowingStronger is can pay you, but I would be very weary of doing any work for someone like this. The logo will NOT be used on the actual GrowStronger.com.

I am just very confused as to why it was done. It is a complete waste of time for the person to even make this contest, as mine has ended awhile ago.

Another thing to beware of, the design irinad79 submitted was one of the ones submitted at the SitePoint.com contest I made.

Juice Daddy, I saw the other contests you were talking about; however, they had other contests that were going on at the same time. That would make sense, as someone could then hold another contest and steal the designs and submit them at his own at the first site. What doesn't make sense is why this is being held well after my contest is over. I really want to know who this person is. An IP Ban is definitely in order, as well as blocking the username or something like that. I don't like the idea of people being tricked about my site.

What you should be beware of? I submitted my original design there as I thought that you are holding the contest for the second time for I don't know what reasons and hoped you will choose it this time as you liked it previously.

And it's ashame that the WT administrators haven't done anything to avoid scams in this forum.

Yep, a terrible thing not to provide your own members security. If I were a graphic designer I would seriously consider not participating in the contests here. I posted a thread about this at SitePoint so hopefully that will prevent some people from coming here and getting scammed.

Really a shame.

How about we setup a minimum post count before members can start new threads in this forum?

Less contests will be posted but it will be more likely that a person with 25 post is a legit member.

Sounds fair but this might mean less contest which are acctually real.
I think that there's one guy doing it seting up fake comps. Can't you just i.p ban him?
