Graphic Design Contests

Hey everyone,

Ran a contest here at the beginning of the month to test the waters and I was impressed so I'm back with some new work.

I have a new project for you graphic designers out there. This is a college, on campus, student space and they need a logo. Being on student council I mentioned I knew where there would be graphic designers interested in this.

The name of the student space is 'The Kickback' or simply 'Kickback'.
Also, the logo needs to possess some of these qualities: Comfy, Lounge, Relaxed, Chill. It is a student space, so a fun vibe to the design is great.
The room is painted Black, Red and White, but the logo does not need to be those colours, as long as it is complimentary to those three then its great.

The contest closes Wednesday, November 29th, 11:59PM. And then the logo's will go up for a one week judging period, (students of the school will be selecting the winner by vote).

Photoshop and JPG's needed, and ideally the master copy should be large(to avoid bitmapping) as it will be printed on a banner. (A Reciept upon payment will be required for bookkeeping purposes.)

I will be around to provide feedback everyday, and keep everyone updated when the judging is taking place. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Here's my submission - I can tweak any aspect. Also, it is fully vector so it can be resized as large as you need.

Student council AND a sample of the student body will be voting. Student council is going to narrow it down to 5-8 of our favourite, and then we will be putting it out to students to get about 80-100 votes.

The top 5 I will announce once selected, and I will give the tallied votes as well.

Twirp54 - Interesting idea. I don't know that we want to promote either pregnancy or overweight chicks though. It has to be gender neutral.

**I will also state that the council is looking for more then just an interesting font, we want it to be more logoish.**

Daniel Cummings - I like the third personally. It is starting to integrate external to the interesting font. Again I will refer to the bold above though.

go0t - Great attempt, I think it comes off a little too childish though.

Paige - I like it. Its a good font, but then the image works well also. Maybe could you put the chair before the logo and extend the black all the way to cover the text and then make the text white? If that makes sense haha.

Kark - Another good submission... is it possible to incorporate the text INTO the couch?

The one with the talk bubble is kind of a joke, but you might like it anyway. I just thought it would be funny giving the words some life. But here are two entries. Give some feedback if needed. Enjoy!

Here's the updated image - great ideas... Let me know if I can tweak anything else for you. Once, again, since you are looking at making the image into a banner - you'll want to try and get a fully vector image. Mine is fully vector.

Colors can be changed to suit and can be supplied in vector format as an AI file

Thats fine woosh, I expect some designs to be pretty similar anywhere. Plus, it's not like its exactly like mine or anything. Then I might have something to say, but that has never been the case thus far. By the way, the font or however you made the lettering in the first two designs is sweet! If it is a font, which is it? Nice job on your designs too! They're great! PEACE!
