We already have this. People just don't follow the requirements. If you look on the rules page, there is a minimum requirements section that has a template that asks for size, colors, etc. CHs just ignore this info though.

But if you guys enjoy the friendly contests or just-for-fun contests, we definitely could have some more.
I did not realize that the fun contests had been funded previously; when I said for fun, I really meant just for fun and bragging rights, no cash. I didn't mean it would fall on your shoulders that way!

For the halloween fun contest, I put in $10 and Tim put in some cash too. For the candy bar one (I didnt host that one) various people donated prizes like hosting.
I am all up for hosting some more fun contests if you guys want. I think there is some discussion going on about what our next one should be. I was thinking about doing a valentine greeting one...what do you think?

How about your shirt, a pair of pants, shoes, someting??

-What about dividing Graphics contests in 2- Beginners - where cheap people can find something cheap, and Big league where buyers ask for professional>? Of course , no restrictions, just that when a ridiculous prize is set, providers can suggest the buyer to move his thread to beginners forum. And some guidelines.

It's saddening to see some people polluting contest threads moaning about the prices offered, we have a discussion thread to talk about it guys leave the contests alone lol, if ya don't want to do it don't lol but don't be an &^%$ and pollute someones thread, with the CH's that submit contests maybe a pm from a mod reminding them to follow the guidelines for the minimum requirements to ensure they get what they came looking for? Fun comps should be fun and not about the prizes... if someone is keen to offer something then great if not, so what lol ... a valentines one sounds cool angele803

Just an update guys and girls -

We ARE going to get a new set-up for the design contest forum sometime in the (near I hope) future. Chroder is working on our new forum design and is a very busy person, but has been working on a system for the contest section. I am not sure of any of the specifics, but I think it will break things up into sections like you guys are suggesting.

On another note; I am not trying to be mean and bossy, but if you want to gripe about contest prices, please do it here or in a PM, not in the contest threads. I am going to start deleting posts that just complain about a CH's prize amount. These posts are against the rules and dont contribute anything positive to the thread. In fact, it is upsetting our CHs. I have received PM's from Contest Holders complaining that their threads are being flamed. I hope you guys understand.

Thanks!

If it's worth anything, this is the exact reason why I have apposed even guidelines. CH's or even contest participators will find a reason to complain, and even guidelines will give them a reason(justification) too complain. Webmaster-Talk is a global marketplace (only in a sense, not literally) and is subject to global market forces not just national ones. I found this out when first realizing that I could not compete, monetarily, with most designers/developers from India. Their economy is based on a rupee that is worth 0.02262 of a US dollar. Sure, I can complain about the supposed inequality of this but the truth is that WMT is a global marketplace and is subject to global market forces.

I guess i'm probably late with this, but whatever.

Minimums:
Logo - $100+
Mascot/Character Design - $250
Web Design (no coding) - $200+ (<- conservative, I charge $400+)
Web Design (standard CSS and HTM coding) - $350+ (<- conservative, I charge $500+)

Sheesh guys, you don't need to flame this thread so much.
