New Header for Webmaster-Talk.com!

For any of you who want to take a shot at this, I would like a new design for the Webmaster-Talk header including LOGO (nav buttons not required but you can add them if you would like).
Winner gets $50 via paypal or a free link in our forum partners section for a month. If it is really good, I'll up the price.
I am looking for something fast loading and clean but also unique and catchy. No photos or clipart.
Restrictions: There is always a chance I won't decide to use any of the submissions and in that case there will not be a winner. I hope there is one good enough that I choose to use (not to mention the honor you will get from having your design used on Webmaster-Talk.com)

Tim - please clarify what you mean by 'no pictures'. Do you mean 'no photos'?
I'm just a bit thick you see!
Regards

Hi Tim
Here's my two cents. (I may be adding a few more cents, but for now, this is the best I got.)
I've made them FAIRLY similar to what you've already got in terms of colour scheme, cos I reckon you don't want to 'shock' the regulars too much. I've kept the colour scheme the same cos I like what you've already got. I've also kept them professional, not wacky like I usually do with graphics, cos you need to get the idea across that this is a serious, proper forum.
WT1 also has a slogan (inspired by an old BT advert) which you may like.
Regards

Nice job Wicko. The first one is more along the lines of the type of logo I was looking for. Suggestions for the first logo: Try some different fonts (including all caps and some with the W and T capped).
I like the font and boldness of the existing logo we are already using (your fonts are a little more "cartoony" than I would probably like. So you may want to think about taking the existing logo and then adding on to that (like removing the current squiqly background thing on the current logo, and then adding you QUOTE background and little slogan (I like the slogan!).
Lastly, I was sort of looking for a complete header (but just the logo is fine also if that is all you want to work on).Everything above (or including) the nav button).
Thanks again wicko.
If anybody else wants to take a shot at this, please do so...

OK, here's another 4 cents, attached. As I post this message, I haven't responded to any of your suggestions up above, but they're good comments, so I'll have a play with them tomorrow.
But for now...
WT3 is just a little logo, which I might develop.
WT4 is, indeed, a development of the little logo.
WT5 is possibly pushing the boundary of 'no pictures'.
WT6 is one of my favourites
I have used a sort of silvery gradient on some of the logos, which probably makes those logos stand out and look better. This gradient can easily be applied to any of the logos.

That's pretty good also Wicko but still not quite what I was looking for.
Prissed, yours is good as well.
I appreciate both of your efforts.
I have been working on a revision of the old logo so I'll probably just go with the one I did for now...

Well, I get the satisfaction of 'inspiring' the design at least!
To be honest, I don't like the new logo. The speech bubble looks cramped up to the text. The zigzag arrows at the bottom haven't been made a 'feature' enough - they sort of merge in to the background too much, and as a result look wrong in my opinion. It also has an amateurish feel to it - but that's probably just because the background hasn't been fully blended in yet.
But, on the plus side, the trio of people could prove to be a useful device, as long as its use is continued throughout the site as a theme. The logo is also cleaner, graphically speaking.
Maybe I'll feel differently about it after a bit of time and a bit of getting used to it. Maybe it is just that the background needs blending in. To me, I'm just not feeling 'good' about the new logo - its a backward step, in my opinion, from what was there before.
I'm sorry if I have offended, but I felt it was important to speak my view. Perhaps its just sour grapes because I thought my design was better... I don't know.
Kind regards

Yeah....Chief, you need to either make that transparent, or blend the colors better.
I also think the "webmaster-talk" especially the "talk" needs to be outlined. The background color is not quite dark enough for the white to really stand out on it.

Fastball,
Thanks, but it is not really what I was looking for and seems to busy...
Wicko and Prissed,
Thanks for the tips. No offense taken. I am not graphics expert but have fun playing around also...
If the background colors matched I would consider it an improvement over the old one, but that's just me
Feel free to take redo the one I did with the needed changes if you would like. I'll take a shot at improving it (if I can't I'll upload the old one again).
And I can't figure out why the navigation button background won't show up anymore!!!!
