Contest is still open. It'll be up until the deadline as originally stated. I haven't chosen a winner yet, and I still need to discuss it with the other admins on my board.

nabz - The revision looks much better with that prominent logo at the top. I really like it. The other rectangular banner would make good room for a feature splash and it has a nice used look to it. I can't think of anything else to improve the layout, so excellent work all round.

JMJM - I love the layout that you've gone with and it has the content-orientated approach that I've been looking for. There's excellent scope for the feature banners and thumbnails which I wanted, plus plenty of room for content giving it the magazine/news look. While I think you've got the structure spot on, some of the text seems a little crushed. The side box for example, I love that it's there and that it stands out, but the text is very close to the design and it could maybe do with a little padding. The font isn't my favourite either. Really like the colour scheme though.

The more I look at this one, the more appealing it is because I can see how it would function with a bit of customization on my part. Great design.

genelmx - I think the logo looks nice. Clearly a slightly different approach to the other ones so far. Look forward to seeing where you go with it.

Nice work. I like the way you've made the design sleek and clean looking, in contrast to the roughcut edges at the bottom. Looks really neat. It doesn't stand out from the page massively, but that points towards functionality and focus on the content which is fine. I like that you've found room for the adspace and the thumbnails look particularly good.

I like the change from orange to red and it makes the template coincide with our theme. A really striking design that you've put together and it certainly looks original to what I normally see for our type of site.

zemadz

This is an excellent design. I love the way you've made it stand out with such minimal effort. The red on black looks great and I love the font used for the buttons and content in general. It looks functional and even the small images are made to stand out with nice professional looking touches. If I'm being picky, the logo seems a little out in the sticks being so small and centered. Love the work thogh. Definitely a contender.

As I said before, this design I could easily see being turned in to a working site which would suit our needs perfectly. Another definite possibility. It looks busy with plenty of room for content and opinions. The design would need a few touches at our end in terms of finding a fresh new logo but for functionality purposes, this is one of the best of the bunch.

I'll be getting opinions from other forum staff (on my board) tomorrow and announcing a winner on Friday - deadline day. If you're still working on a design, please get in it in before then. Cheers.

I'd like to say a big thanks to everybody who posted entries here. Some great work from you all and I appreciate the effort.

That's certainly a wilder more "out there" design. It's bright and colourful, and it certainly attracts attention. I like the way you've blended it in to the UK theme with the flags and skyline. For my purposes, however, its a bit too poppy and cheerful for the type of talent that I'm likely to be promoting! Nice use of fonts to make it stand out and a good design.

Buuut...

I have to choose a winner, and after speaking to the other admins on my board, we've decided to go with the design posted by zemadz.

Once again...there's been some great work posted here so thanks to everybody. But his design fits in with our vision the best. I'll be PM'ing him shortly, hopefully he's still around.

I might have another contest to post up soon. Cheers all.
