THANK YOU FOR SEVERAL EXCELLENT ENTRIES. THROUGH A VOTE OF OUR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS, BORZOID's DESIGN HAS BEEN CHOSEN AS THE WINNER. CONGRATS BORZOID AND THANK YOU ALL FOR PARTICIPATING!

First, about the business:

We are starting up a winery in Upstate New York, in the Lake George / Adirondacks area. Please note this is a WINERY and not a VINEYARD - meaning we DO NOT grow grapes - we acquire grapes from other vineyards to create our wines. We want our logo to convey a local feel - meaning it reflects the region we're located in. The wine labels, on which the logo will be used, will most likely feature different photos/paintings of local sites in the region. The logo will also be featured on our sign at our retail store, on our website, as well as on business cards, stationary, t-shirts, glasses, etc.

Here's our official ABOUT US: The Adirondack Winery is a premier micro-winery located in the Adirondacks region of New York. We take great pride in the art of producing quality, enjoyable wines with a local flair.

Parameters:

Logo Name: ADIRONDACK WINERY (can be caps, lower case, a combo - no opinion on that)

Color scheme: Think more natural colors or jewel tones, black

Type of design: Logo

Desired size: think about a logo that would fit into a horizontal rectangular or horizontal oval shape as opposed to a circle or square

File type: Only contest winner must provide Adobe Illustrator Vector File compatible with Windows PC

Prize: $75

How prize will be delivered: Paypal

End Date: Winner will be chosen by August 1st, 2007.

Desired font: All I request is that at least a portion of the logo use a font that I can continue in use on brochures, business cards, etc.

What would you associate with Adirondacks region of NY?

I would associate it with wilderness. It is one of the largest parks in the country and can fit several of the major parks from out west inside it with room to spare.

I live pretty close to the Adirondacks and plan to get there sometime this year (perhaps a few times) to ride my motorcycle through viewing the scenery and to get some pictures taken for my site.

Here's a bit more about the Adirondacks for inspiration - I guess most people who know the area think most of mountains and lakes - lots of mountains and lakes

This is from the visitadirondacks site above - which is a great description:

I think it needs more just not sure what I wanted to put titus mountain behind it all but it might be too busy then, let me know what you think.

I think the elements were a good concept, but its too clip-arty and its a square shape.
