Flash Transparency...

Not sure how to completely describe this problem...

I cannot select the content below this flash header on the following page:
http://bekdesigns.com/~codeman/layout/

I can select the lower half, but not the middle part. Ive made the flash transparent, so i'm not exactly sure what to do. Ive had my other flash people look at it, and they cant figure it out either. The only solution we thought of was to make the menu DHTML, but of course it wont have the same effects, so we thought possibly someone knew of a fix!

Any help would be appreciated,

More than likely it's a z-index problem. The Flash is at z-index 2 ABOVE the rest of the content below it.

1 - you shouldn't need to use position:absolute for that and that eliminates the z-index problem.
2- that code is a nightmare - which is exactly what ImageReady spews.
3 - you shouldn't use the <embed>, it'll cause some IE users fits.

We tried the "Z-Index" and that didnt seem to want to work either. It was actually starting to work in Firefox, but not explorer. I hate how both browsers just wont work together.

Either way, it's back to not working.... We might have to end up doing a DHTML Menu, unless anyone else can think of anything.

Thanks

This is a screenshot that I took with the topographic information highlighted. See that black there? That's where something is covering up the stuff right below the flash. My guess is that it's a div that was made too big.

the flash is made to where the menu has to expand! so basically, if you viewing the flash when no menu item is selected yet, that extra 200 pixels below it is invisible flash. but browsers still read that as part of the layer.

I'm guessing we just have to do it in DHTML... which really stinks.

No, you don't have to use DHTML.
If you don't use positioning (absolute and relative) properly with z-index, then you are not going to be successful. IE 6 has some serious bugs with the way it creates new z-index 'layers' with certain positioning layouts.
