Personally I quite like Fireworks, but as I use that for graphics work anyway thats probably the reason. I used to have quite a good program (whose name escapes me) which let you combine a number of standard image files into an animation.... I'll need to find it again.

What are you using at the moment for graphics?

Hi WuLabsWuTech,

I personally recommend Photoshop or PaintShop Pro, as those are the two image programs that I have used before. They're somewhat easy to use, and you can generate really interesting products from those two programs. But if you really want an easy-to-use program, you could take ghettocars' suggestion and use MS Paint (which in my opinion, can't create anything that looks decent). There are also many sites on the Internet that allow you to generate banners. Just do a search on Google and the results will come up.

I use Imageready (bundled with Photoshop 7) for animated gifs or Flash 5 for more advanced animated banners

A good program with a lower price tag than some of the ones mentioned is XaraX and Xara Webstyles. You can do animated banners with both. They might be worth checking out.

Xara

If you have PhotoShop then use the Adobe ImageReady program, that should do all you need to create a banner.
