What software do you use to create an image like this for internet marketing? Any advice?

I'm pretty sure that can be achieved with only photoshop, using skew and resizing.

that can be done with fireworks also using the pen tool to draw the basic box and to distort and fade the other images on the box

photoshop, very easy, first create the front and the left side, put them side by side, push the perspective in on both ends then scale it inwards a little and there you go. theres plenty of tutorials on google, i don't think my explanation will do you any good i haven't had much sleep ;p
