I'm trying to throw together a logo for a website Im making, but I find logo creation harder than ... ANYTHING!

The problem I'm having is getting the R to match the style of the M, whilst at the same time still looking like an R. Here is a sketch I've made of my idea:



The logo is supposed to read 'METALDRIVER', bear in mind it needs to have a heavy metal theme to it!

Any ideas??

This should get you started. Just try not to dupe Metallica's logo. If you follow this "R" you'll be in good shape.

Perhaps try a horizontal bar between the M and R, and make your central letters less blocky?

Do you mean going from the M to the R behind the other letters? I have a pretty cool idea for the D aswell. I will alter the other letters to make them less blocky I think.

When it comes to actually creating the logo I'll probably put a lot of time into it in Photoshop so it could take a while until its finished. But I'll show you the final sketch aswell as the Photoshopped version when theyre done [I'll PM you if its far in the future].

Actually, I was thinking about a bar from the bottom of the M to the bottom of the R, underneath the middle letters, with maybe some one of the letters (like the T) interrumpting it.

I've got the M D and R sorted [I might return the M back to how it used to, I'll see how it looks once created], and for the other letters, I think I'll just add some subtle pointy ends to them. I've tried to show them in the sketch although they're not really too visible.

I'd stay away from that M, looks too much like Metallica's.

Ah yeah I'm likin' that! Sort of reminds me a little of Testament! hehe. I'll probably have a play around with that and see if I can alter it in anyway.
