Thanks for the tip. I just spent a half-hour on Google searching for things like "animated lens flare text photoshop flash" and came up with bunches of tutorials, but nothing covering this particular effect.
If you have a few minutes, could you scribble down what you remember about the process? That might be enough to get me headed in the right direction.
