just wondering what program you experts would recommend for banner creating.
I want to create animated banners (.gif) but i use paint so there is no chance in me creating them.
Ive used photoshop or paintshop before and didnt like it much...maybe i used an older version.
Is there any programs you would recommend for editing pictures and creating pics and banners. If so, this would be asking a lot but, if you can, can you please tell me where i can find this program. other than downloads.com.

I personally think photoshop is the best but it really depends on the person. As for getting your hands on it, the only way to get it legally is to buy it but lots of people get it from kazaa i think (not reccomended). otherwise adobe used to publish photoshop LE (light edition but i am not sure if they still do that) and it would be pretty cheap.

Did you not like them because you didn't know how to use it or because you didn't like the features? It depends on the user like the other dude said. I mostly use Photoshop and Fireworks. I'm not an animation guy but for editing pics and stuff, Photoshop is the way to go. And using some good filters don't hurt either =)

lol.. paintshop like paint. That's like saying a 9mm is like a 12 gauge shotgun. But, just get Photoshop. Mess around wit it and you'll be making some nice graphics.

Photoshop (which includes ImageReady for animated gifs) is really the best there is. It is wayyyyyyy expensive ($999 in Canada yikes) but worth it if design is your bread & butter.
An excellent alternative in the lower end would be Adobe Photoshop Elements - which takes a lot from Photoshop and has a ton of features but is a lot less expensive. It's getting a lot of really great reviews so you might want to check it out.
Another good alternative that I used to use before I went to Photoshop is Paintshop Pro but I still think Photoshop Elements is better for the price range if full Photoshop is too pricey for your budget.

no its ok there is always kazaa for that
imma just download photoshop adn give it a try.
oh wicked BTW i did try out paintshop which was like paint, didnt like it much though, had a real crappy interface. Paintshop 3.0 or something LOL
Ive used paint all this time because im soooo good at it. I take car pictures off autoshows, erase the background and all the crap painted on the car, then I add 'GhettoCars' to the windshield to make it look like the car is in a car club called ghettocars, then i get a swimsuit model that i find, and i copy and paste here onto the picture to make it look like shes lying down on the car.
No lying, the picture looks like if it was taken on a sunny day in the beach with the girl lying down on the car in her bikini and the car says ghettocars on it.
pretty much what i use paint for.

You might also look into the Xara products. Xara
Some like, some don't. But IMO, it's all in what you get used to doing.

yea but i need something better than paint, imagine how much better i could be if i had something with more options. If i am that good in paint i will be even wayyy better using photoshop.
Lately ive been having problems with paint also, im using Microsoft Word to create word art logo's and then i use the transparency feature to make them look smooth and really nice looking ( i am really creative) so then when i copy and paste it onto paint, since paint is sucks it doesnt have a transparency effect so instead of displaying the picture transparently it just has white dots in some areas, thats how paint understands transparency i guess. Plus it is too pixeled sometimes when i do logos with nice thick borders.
Hopefully that made sense to all of you. I dont even understand it much

My personal favourite is Macromedia Fireworks MX, but if you want to search for another editor take a look at Image editors
There you can find an overview of multiple image editors

Creative and modest!
I don't know. I tend to do alot of actual graphic arts but I have heard that people who like to do "vectory" and use illustrator flash and stuff. Personally photoshop 6 is perfect. Here is the latest thing I wipped up using the text tool and airbrush.

title developer category OS
Photoshop 7.0 Adobe Graphics/Logo Windows2000
and then for filename it says NHL2002.exe or something like CDKEYGEN.exe
one question to everyone, how many MB is photshop 6.0?
