Its a banner for a new site im working on..

Well, it all depends on which part of the image you want people to be drawn to. It seems like the transparency of the eye is the thing that draws people most, where the light forms a halo on the eye. Also, having the big letters on the right attracts more attention to that side. For balance's sake, I suggest switching the "SMG" and "unofficial fansite" locations. Also, this will help keep people drawn to the leftish middle of the site, which is where most content will be starting anyway.

The moral here: Balancing the attractive components of the site (and on this particular one, there'll probably be many of those ) to draw attention toward the content will aid in people being able to find what they want to see.

While my review won't be nearly as technical as Ikari's, my general impression, Sky is that I like it. Subtle, sexy and light. Very cool. You clearly have a lot of talent and an eye for what looks good (and SMG is not a bad obsession to have!).
