Hi,

We are currently using Adobe Photoshop (like everyone else) to resize our product images after we crop, edit and unsharp mask them. I have downloaded a few programs that can automate this step once you create the first image. We create a 500x500px, 250x250px and 150x150px image for the site.

The program should be able to resize the image, unsharp mask a certain amount (most I have seen do a bad job of this), compress the jpg a required and predetermined amount and then save with tags added to the file name (example: productcode-imagesize-1(or more if this is the second image but I can control that part).jpg).

I have tried this in Photoshop and it works great until it decides not to compress the image at the end of the steps in batch.

In the future we will have many different sizes we will need to make the our products and so it is crutial we start to have a good process now as a 50x50px thumbnail is in the works.

Thanking you in advance,

Nathan...

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately the resizing tool is very basic. No image renaming or batch mode.

Thanks,

Hi,

I have tried that but when you automate the steps into a batch it doesn't allow you to pick the quality of the jpg.
