I've used both. It just depends on what you are used to I guess. I find Photoshop easier but I have been using that for so long it's just not worth switching over.

I'm not sure I quite understand how you can say PhotoShop (being a Raster/Paint software) will always be better than Fireworks/illustrator (Being a Vector graphics software dealing with Points/paths).

They are Both used for totally different things in the graphics profession.

i know how to use fireworks and photoshop i still personally think photoshop is the best graphical application out there and fireworks is far from it but im still looking to see what other people think if they agree with what im saying or not

Photoshop is NOT a VECTOR software, so you can't compare it to FireWorks... 2 Totally different applications.

I think it would make more sense to ask if people prefer working with Raster/Paint (Using DPI - Dots per Inch) or working with vectors (Lines/Paths)..

Being a 2D Vector creative designer myself, I of course chose Vector softwares.

I've used both, but prefer photoshop. Though I still hate how you have to select layers before you can edit them! (unlikely illustrator)
