I believe that to view it (seeing as though you said save target as, instead of saving the actual movie) you must use an avi file viewer, plus being connected to the web. I am not too sure if it is anything else, if this is not the case.

im not sure if your asking to have the avi inbeded in the page as a html element or what, but if u want people to be able to click a play button and view it on the same page then you could use the embed tag.
Not sure if thats what u want but it may help.

Camtasia uses the "TechSmith" codec. So the end user would need to have this codec installed on their machine to view the AVI file....this is not likely.
I would suggest exporting the video out of Camtasia as a WMV or RM file. Most webservers can deliver this as streaming media. Also both of these file formats are far more compatible than a Techsmith encoded AVI file.

I won't choose RM, some people like to keep the computersystem clean and fast and don't install all those tools. If you're going for a 'non-standard' version choose .mov (quicktime).
I hate RM. If a movie is in RM, i wont bother to watch it. I dont care, i just walk away. Quicktime is much better, or WMV. This is for streaming, im not sure how to stream an Avi.
