Ok, I have no idea upon how to create depth in web design and everything I make just looks flat and just... crap really!

This is what I designed:



Any ideas upon how to create more depth on it and make it less flat?

Not sure what you mean, are you talking about drop shadows or the appearance that things are 'stacked' on the page ? The 'stacking' effect is achieved with CSS divs strategically laid out.

Drop shadows are the easiest way to give an image depth. Another is reflections and lighting, inner shadows, etc. Every drop shadow is not the same, a smaller, 'harder', less opaque shadow is what you get when something is very close to the surface it sits on. A broader and more transparent shadow is what you see when something is further away. You need to be mindful of the lighting source and direction to make it more realistic looking.

There are all sorts of techniques you can use, you just have to study a bit

have you tried some tutorials and applied some of them to enhance your design. Look at smashingmagazine for some really good solutions and ideas.
