i had to edit the .swf file, so i follwed the instructions in one of the thread, converted the .swf file to .fla edited the the things. but now i was unable to convert that .fla file to .swf flie
Could any one suggest the methodolies to be followed to be successful?

You can't 'convert' an FLA file to a SWF. An SWF file is a COMPILED Flash file - so you need a program, like Flash, to re-generate the SWF.

Actully you dnot need any swf decompiler to edit the .fla file. They are all superfluous to do your work. There is a tool called swf quicker(google it please), with it you can edit the .swf directly. well, you'll have to regenerate the SWF files with Flash, but next time you may try to edit the SWF directly if the work is not so complicated, one of the tool SWF Quicker I used before can edit SWF, you can try it if necessary.

i'm a newbie to flash but if i'm not mistaken, where your fla file is, there should be a swf of that file. if you keep your fla file in its own folder, you should see what i'm talking about. see if you can publish that fla to see the http of it.
