I need to learn how to create images that will allow me to give information about the promotions our webstore is running. The images will be mostly text on colored backgrounds. But, I am having trouble finding an example of exactly what I am trying to learn.
I have seen Cabela's do things like what I would like to do, but I can't find one on their site right now.

I know the image I would like to create is more than a photoshopped jpg with multiple text boxes, because I tried to right-click and copy one once and I could only copy little pieces of it at a time. The image was all text in multiple font sizes arranged in an almost tabular manner on a gradient or fading type background. The little piece of the image I tried to copy had the same background as the main image. The image was displayed in a javascript type window.

I am sure this post sounds completely ridiculous to someone very experienced with web graphics. But please, bear with me. Could someone tell me what kind of image this is and which app in the Creative Design Suite CS3 would be best to create such an image?

Thanks,
Shadrach

Have you got an EXAMPLE to show us or do we have to guess ??

If it's just text on a background, use TEXT on a background using CSS and NOT images.

You could also use sIFR (google it) to utilize non-standard fonts but it would still render as text for accessibility.

No I don't really have an example. I was hoping you might be able to tell just from the characteristics I gave of the image. I was hoping this wasn't just a complicated collage of images arranged in a table or with CSS. But how else could I copy pieces of the image but never the whole thing. But it was strange that each piece matched perfectly with a changing background.

As far as the CSS thing goes, our site is hosted by an E-Commerce hosting company so we are really limited on just how much we can utilize CSS.

I think maybe it would be easier to use three or four textboxes in a jpg with photoshop.

But, thanks for the reply anyway.

since you were only able to get pieces of the image, then it IS a sliced image stuck in tables, there's no other explanation.
