I need to make a logo for a new site and I just want some input from others.

My personal opinion is that the top heavy "banner" type of thing has a dated look but I still want something up there.

What are some of your personal favorites and why?

I like small logos primarily because if you are doing any corporate branding a large bulky logo can be somewhat difficult to implement.

Personally I like logos that seem to fit in with the mood or theme of the site. I think it's also great if your logo can help re-enforce your sites message but that's not always easy.

I also like logos to "pop" or stand out from the rest of the site but I'm an eye candy kinda guy so it's personal preference rather than solid professional advice.

The logo is somthing like anybody can easily remember. For corporate site I like the logo b very simple, bold in font & in light colour like LG, NOKIA.... You have seen that ...all r very simple in font, not much more color... just bold in font & simple & easily to recognise also !!!

& for other site depends upon the theme & client....

I also like the logos to fit with the theme of the website, also prefer the top banner type. It's especially nice when they can incorporate a small graphic or something catchy. There are some sites that are so filled with content, that the logo doesn't stand out and is too small. But it also depends on the client on what they want.

I like logos like that of Google's, the logo's theme changes as the season changes, like that of Valentines when they have changed it and that of Christmas. I know its kinda hard work but since they have lots of people to work for them...

Don't make it too flashy.

My sister works for a branding merchandise company and is amazed how many logos are submitted with heavy gradients in them and are difficult to reproduce in many print situations. It's ok to have gradients for a web logo, but be sure to create a "print" style as well. You'll be better off when creating pens, mugs, custom flash drives, etc that bare your logo.

Let me muddle along for a bit and maybe I will post some samples in this thread for your opinions. I made a pure text (with effects) one and it is just a little plain. Need just a little color added I think.

a nice simple logo, not to big in size

Logo's should be simple in my opinion, fit in the site and cover the topic, but appear professional and well made. It is the first thing most people notice so also when it looks bad.

I like small and simple logo, express website idea.

I suggest that you take an idea out of what Randy have posted.

Personally speaking, I like website logos which are simple. I don't like those sites that occupies big header banners all their top part of the sites. Also, it should blend well with what the site is all about, that when you look at the logo, you will then now what the site is all about.

personally i like logo's that are simple yet still look very professional...

I want a logo with a good combination of colors and design and of course unique.
