I have Macromedia Studio 8. I use Dreamweaver to design websites and I'd like to have my graphics move in like on the sample link below but I'm not sure what software I should use to accomplish this.

Flash seems pretty complicated and intimidating to me. Can this be done in an easy to learn application or am I going to have to spend some time learning Flash?

That honestly isn't hard to do in Flash. That is a very basic usage of motion tweens. The price is the only thing that should intimidate you with flash. Yes, the program gets way more complicated, but stuff like that is easy.

You can also google some jQuery effects. There are some really great plug-ins and tuts that almost look like flash.

The header is very simple and basic to do in flash. I am sure with the right tutorial online, you can learn it easily. You just need patience and focus to learn it. So yes, Flash is really he software to use for this kind of designs or layout.
