Well... I personally prefer Adobe Photoshop to create the graphics and Adobe ImageReady to create animations (.gif). Here is a great tutorial I found by doing a simple Google search http://www.myjanee.com/tuts/animation/animation.htm This will help you out ALOT better because it has pictures to follow instead of me just telling you. When you work with programs such as this anything visual helps out greatly. Best of luck to you.

Could you give an example from another website perhaps so I know exactly what you are referring too?

I would strongly recommend Adobe Flash. It may be a little over your budget, but if you really use it and try to get your money's worth out of it, you will not regret it. It can do graphics (like the ones you have been talking about), websites, dynamic forms and graphs... I could go on for a long time, but there isn't a lot of stuff that it can't do. Like The Pixel, I would recommend many other Adobe products as well. The 'professional' boast isn't fake. It's real.
Sorry for the rant, I hope I didn't barge in on the discussion.

haha no its alright, thanks for your advice both of you. But the main thing ive been trying to figure it out is how to make my tabs do something like this..
http://osc.template-help.com/wt_23427/index.html
the way they come down fade away and turn into orange, except i would want them to turn into red.. how might i go by that?

Well, don't use that template. The coding is, well, bad even for its antiquated level.
If you get Flash, you can create such animations yourself, of course, and while I'm overstating the patently obvious, you'd need a tutorial.
You'd be wise to check out swfobject to embed the flash in the page, and you'd need a good knowledge of javascript and/or CSS for the rollovers when they're hovered over.
So how advanced are you at coding web pages? Telling us that will help us better answer your questions.

Well i'm still in High School, and i'm entering some web design contest soon to come, but i can't figure out how to make my tabs look nice. My pages are looking great because body codes are simple, i have some media and pics. on there also. The only thing that looks out of place are my tabs and my Graphics (such as logo and banner).. if you guys can help me in learning about banners and the tabs, id be greatly appreciative. Thanks, Robert

Do a keyword search on "free flash tabs" and see what you come up with. To embed those tabs, check this sticky from the HTML forum:
http://www.webmaster-talk.com/html-f...audio-web.html
Then, if you have questions or problems from there feel free to ask. Live code with a link is preferred.
