Anti-Alias Button Rollovers?

How do I anti-alias text?
I need to create buttons that don't look like crap, and the text has to be in the same position in every single button to facilitate mouse-over roll-overs.

I have no experience with graphics at all.

I've tried to create roll-over buttons but failed misirably with crappy looking fonts and have no idea how to fix it.

I've been using GIMP.

This is a good question for beginners, I'm glad you asked. I'm not too experienced with GIMP, so I did a little research for you.

There seems to be a plugin for this issue within GIMP. You can download it from the link below.

Also, there are many generators online that will design a button for you, right on a website, no image editing at all. Google search came up with this one for me.

Just search until you find one that suits your needs. Good luck!

Why use images at all? It's a simple enough job to create the look of buttons with CSS properties.

Well, the buttons need to be a solid color with a certain angle of curved rounded edges. How would you specify that in CSS?

In addition, I'd need to encode a certain font onto the button, and, mistake me if I'm wrong, fonts are a user-side thing, meaning unless a user has a certain font, then it'd show plain.....

You are correct, it is not easy to force fonts in css.

Take a look at this site, and then customize within the css. -
