Right for some time now i have always kept my backgrounds very simple as never been sure best way to do this.

I have this design here with a smoke background.

How would i do this as i usually just repeat the background but this show up wrong.

ie like this

Use a wider "slice" for the background image

Not the file size, but the pixel width of the image.

It needs to be wide enough to allow the pattern to repeat in the "layered wave" shape that smoke would be.

Ok thanks for you help got it look better now the only thing is there away i could get the gradient to look smother than it is as it has some lines running in it.

Probably down to the graphics tool you are using, maybe reduce the compression or export to a .png rather than a jpeg

you can use CSS if you want a duplicat image in the background .
or if you want a simple background use CSS with this :

<body bg-background="url.jpeg">

i think it's the good way
