I am thinking of offering my graphic design services to the world. Simple Web banners and buttons and so on. Does anyone think it will be a money maker?
Am thinking about making a site and so on.

Any opinions would be great. James

It's a money maker, as long as you commit to building your skills to rise above others. Contests and clients aren't too hard to find, once you are established. But logo design contests can be tough to win because there is a lot of talent out there.

From my personal opinion, when I submit logos to large site like hatchwise or 99designs, eighty-percent of the "designers" that submit are just some people hoping to get lucky and win some quick bucks. The other twenty percent are pros trying to snatch the victory from the other pros.

Practice and get yourself in the twenty percent. You will know when you win a contest or two that you can keep winning and you have a future in it. But it takes a lot of practice and even more creativity.

Yeah, I think you can definitely make money at it. I'd recommend to not completely rely on online marketing to make a living, but it can surely be a part of the mix. I've found some of the best clients, and referrals have come from some personal connections and networking that I've done. Best of luck in your endeavor!
