Hello,

I am in the middle of populating my website (health and safety training). I was handed over the website and access to the control panel (WYSIWYG, etc).

I need to make some banners for the site. I will be using some high quality stock photos and text. I am by no means a designer, so this should be interesting!

What is the best program out there to do such projects? Price in not an issue, so if Photoshop CS5 is the best, then that's ok.

What's you take? I need some help!

Thanks for the input,

-Dave

Hello Dave,

PhotoShop is the best if you have the money and you want to design logos, banners, etc.

GIMP is also a good graphic designing program, but PhotoShop has more features to make graphic designing a breeze,

Good luck.

Photoshop is an image editor, logos and banners really need to be done in a VECTOR editor.

So from the Adobe stable that would be Illustrator NOT Photoshop.

And in Open Source software would be Inkscape NOT Gimp

I'd recommend using Photoshop for banners and Illustrator for logos.

I personally prefer fireworks over photoshop, but thats just me.
Fireworks is easier to grasp and there are other unique features that make it > photoshop.
