Hi all,
How is it possible to save an image from a PDF document such that it can be used elsewhere, such as on a web site?

The only thing that I can think of at the moment is to take a screenshot of the PDF doc, paste that as an image in an image editor, crop to fit actual image and save that as a .gif.

Any other suggestions?

Cheers, Damascus.

PS if anyone has a nice 5/6 step guide on how to convert a PDF file to a Word doc, appreciate that to.......

I think the only way possible, unless you have Adobe Acrobat (not just the reader), is to take a screen shot or area shot of the pic and then edit it in your graphics editor.

I don't know how to save the .pdf file as .doc or .txt, but I've heard there is a program that does that. I'll try to find it, but I'm very unsure what the program was.

Anyone else have ideas?

Dave

Wish I could say yes!! This is something I've wracked my brains out about, too - I pretty much do it the way Damascus mentioned - don't know how else. Well, if ever I find anything, I'll let you know but if anyone else knows of anything, I'd sure love to hear it, too!

Hi
Have you tried it out with a scanner ? I know we did it before with OCR and then save the picture as psd format (adobe photoshop). After that you can take a higher quality, effects, resize and so on, and then save your picture for the web.

You have more information for PDF extraction/conversion on this site :
