hi, im developing the website webtuts.com and have paid for a new logo with designcrowd and have chosen a great looking logo, the only thing is i dont feel it looks very good how it is encorporated into the site at the minute. please could you share with me your ideas on helping to make the logo the best it possibly could within the site,

well it probably isn't sitting right with you because of two main reasons - the logo you have has rounded corners a plenty, but your design is very angular, and your logo has that "web2.0" (before anyone jumps on that, I'm just as appalled at that usage of the phrase as you are) shiny button look, but none of the other elements in your site do.

You've got 2 solutions - alter your entire site to make the corners a little rounded, and apply a shiny effect to the nav bar etc, or take the shininess off the logo.

Also, match your blues, they are quite different.

Here's my two cents. If you move it farther over to the left so it's more isolated. Plus I would definitely try to make the two-tone blue brighter - you can barely see the difference. And as Ed said your logo is rounded but the site design is very square-like - I don't know how you're going to get around changing the structure of the logo without it costing more money. Unless you can get the designer to do it for free.

For visual branding your logo should stand out, NOT disappear into the background.
