Check the Image Size dialog box and make sure that you aren’t using a setting that’s higher than 300dpi, which is more than enough detail for almost any output process. Also make sure that you have plenty of free space on your hard drive, otherwise there’s no way for Photoshop to use the scratch disk capability. If those options don’t work, increase the virtual memory available to Windows; for instructions on this process, search the Help files in your version of Windows. (In Windows XP, go to Start and press Help And Support. Under Performance And Maintenance, click Managing Your Computer’s Performance, and then under Pick A Task select Change The Size Of The Virtual Memory Paging File.)
