Hi. I'm new to this site, I hope this is a good place to ask for help. If not, I wonder if you guys can direct me to a good place for that?

I have already checked with the Macromedia support site, but their suggestions did not help.

My problem is, I have just figured out how to create graphics with hotspots in Fireworks. Got that all settled now, and its great. But when I export to Dreamweaver, and try to insert into an existing document there, it will not work.

Once or twice I was able to copy and paste instead of export, and the graphic showed in Dreamweaver, but it was not quite right (hotspot colors were wrong), and it still did not show in a browser.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I also use DreamWeaver and Fireworks. However, I do it this way....

I use Fireworks to crop, size and generally manipulate the photo as required for use on the web page.

I then use DreamWeaver to import the pix and place it on the screen where it looks best and finally I use DreamWeaver's 'hotspot' feature as follows:

1) Click on the picture in DreamWeaver
2) Expand DreamWeaver Properties
3) Look in the lower left corner of the Properties pane and you'll see a Rectangular Hotspot Tool, an Oval Hotspot Tool and a Polygon Hotspot tool - Choose the tool you want and draw the hotspot on your pix. Once the Hotspot has been defined you'll need to set up a link for the hotspot - - you're done!!

Have fun.

John, thanks, you saved my life! I didn't know I could create the hotspots in dreamweaver, I thought I could only edit them there.

Perfect easy solution, just what I was hoping for. Thanks so much!

btw, I'm from Raleigh, and my nephew is names John J

Take it easy,

Dreamweaver is fantastic but there are some great new touches to version 8. If you go with it, you will enjoy benefits such as instant closing tags, but it takes some getting use to as I kept typing the tag closes even tho typing </ ended up with dreamweaver closing the correct tag for me.

V8 is great
