I'm just wondering which program most people would recommend getting for image creation and editing:
Photoshop cs2 or Fireworks 8?
Thanks in Advance.

Just learning Fireworks, but I think that Photoshop is such an industry standard, and is proven--I think that it would be your best bet.

In my opinion Fireworks is much easier to learn, but Photoshop is much more powerful.

I have both Fireworks 8 and Photoshop CS. I personally like Firework 8 a lot better, being linked to dreamweaver when I want to quickly edit my images, all dreamweaver does is open Fireworks and edit it right there. I know its pointless for you probably but also looking at Photoshop, a lot of company's use it as their main photo/image editor. Its basically comes down to; "What are you looking for in a image editor?"

hope it helps

I own both, and find PS is easier to naviagate and use. I'm all but lost with fireworks.

It seems PS is more powerful as well. I'd go with it, after owning both.

IMO, Adobe photoshop is nice tool for webdesigning. I think you should visit tutorial site here to learn more about photoshop. I think firworks is also good tool.

It depends, Photoshop is of greater use with a greater varity of option, while Fireworks is better in creating flash like vectors like those made in Illistrator. There are Trials for both software, so why not try before you buy?

I actually think that, and i know it wasnt an option, that If you are new and undecided, keep them all, and thorow in Paintshop Pro, that way when stumped in one program you can switch.... I still occasionally do that on certain images, and its nothing bad really... But I would say go with photoshop Cs becasue its faster then Cs2 and cheaper... there isnt much of a difference either unles youre a photographer...

Fireworks here. I've been using it for long, and am accustomed to it now more.
Tried Photoshop, but couldn't find much that I could not do in FW, so hung on with it.
