Hi guys,
here is my first problem.
I am fairly new to Photoshop or creating graphics ins general (actually I have lied, it is my third time to do so).

I forgot to set the background to transparent and when I use the same backgroundcolor for the graphic as I used for the website the colors look different.

How can I change the background to transparecy after all? Or how can I copy the elements (grouped) or as they are to a new picture file which I create as transparent?

I use photoshop 7.0. Thanks for your help.

If you don't have anything on the background layer, you can select that layer, then use the background eraser tool.

PS - You can use the Hex colour selector in PhotoShop (double click on the colour) to make the colors the same. If you aren't sure what hex code is for the colour on your site, download Color Picker.

Hi,
thanks for your reply. I really have no clue so please don't laugh at me ;D

That worked out almost fine. But there is another layer. (Layer 0). It leaves few white dots in the picture. How can I erase a layer?

Besides this, the graphic doesn't have a clear border (if you know what I mean). There is a small white border around some parts of the graphic. How can I get erase those parts?

Thanks again!
Cledith

I did. The background color is #123465. And I chose this hex for the color in Photoshop. But displaying the picture in the site you can see that there are two different colors, although their hex is the same.

Never mind. I erased the last layer (layer 0). So I got fixed that problem.

But there is still the border around parts of the graphic that appear white when I save the graphic.
How can I get clear borders? I mean directly from transparency to the blue I used?

Thanks,
Cledith

hrm... You can pass me the files (PSD) and a URL and I can take a jab at it. Other than that, make sure you completely erased the layers where the border may appear with a tool that doesn't have faded edges.

Never mind, got it.
I never set the option of the background color in which the transparent picture was supposed to be displayed in. Now it just works fine.

Thank you anyways!
