I created graphic using the pen tool and the fine tuned with the free transform tool. Now the edges are really rough and I want to smooth them out... can any one help me with this problem? I attache the file so anyone can check it out.

one idea that springs to mind is using text - the shape you posted looks like a comma. Could you find a (probably serif) font that has a comma that looks like that?

Going forward, you'll probably get smoother curves is you try and combine primitive shapes (like the ellipse) rather than using the pen tool. Also, try using a basic, soft rounded stroke.

EDIT: I'd also stay away from using the free transform tool tool where you can, as you can get some pretty irregular shapes if you're not careful.

Actually, it looks more like a bass clef. There is a free donwnloadable font here that might give you something better than a comma.
