Hello, i'm a newby

using dreamweaver 8 i have just finished building my first website using layers. As part of a page i have set up a layer and nested 15 layers in that one. In each seperate layer i have inserted a swf-file (a simple dissolve of three images). The website is ready and F12 shows the result: good!! The page works locally and the flash looks fine.

So the site is uploaded to the host and now i can see the endresult........ I can see everything on the page but the flash-file, not even a border or erromessage?????

The HTML and SWF files are in the root. And the swf paths are relative(../)

It should work but i'm lost at the moment. I'm using IE6.0.2900.

here is a sample of the code:

</div>
<div id="p001heather">
<script type="text/javascript">
AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0','width','185','heigh t','246','align','middle','src','../F001heather','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer','movie','../F001heather' ); //end AC code
</script>
<noscript>
<object classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="185" height="246" align="middle">
<param name="movie" value="../F001heather.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<embed src="../F001heather.swf" width="185" height="246" align="middle" quality="high" pluginspage="
http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed>
</object>
</noscript>
</div>

Does anyone have a clue???? If i get this to work........!!!

Thank you

FIFTEEN ??? !!!
Why would you possibly need 15 'layers' ???

The problem could be the <embed>. Active content is now a problem in IE because MS lost a legal battle.

What is the ac_fl_runcontent script ? I'm not familiar with that one.

Hello LadynRed,

it has something to do with ignorance and trying to get a certain idea to work. These are 15 flash files in a scrollable window. Each in a seperate layer ;-)
The script comes from dreamweaver itself if you try to insert flash.

But the problem has been resolved by now. Simply used the HTML output from flash together with the SWF file. That did the trick; simple........
It took me two days......

Thnx for your reply.

Well it looks like you have "../F001heather.swf" flie in a directory above the actual directory you have the html file in. Just check and see that the .swf file is in right dirctory. If you have it stored locally and your code is pointing to a swf file in a directory above then you will get nothing on your browser display. Hope that helps.
