I am looking to make my own 'wee' logo.

Under the name of The Entertainment King or TEK
Thinking on a tilted crown on the head type thing.

Never did ANYTHING like this before. Can someone suggest the best thing to do it with on limited (VERY) budget.

Thanks...

Your best bet is to find a "friend" with Photoshop or Illustrator. The thing about doing a logo is you want it to scale. In other words you want to make it really really big, because, you can always make a digital image smaller but you can't make one bigger or else it gets all bent out of shape, literally. in order to get this really big original image you will need an application that will do Pro high res work and since you are on a budget....you need a friend with the above.
Good luck,

I have no idea about Paint Shop Pro. It does support vector graphics which is good. I would think the resolution in that application would be adjustable since many new cameras save high resolution images...but i don't know for sure.

Good luck,
It only "bends" out of shape if you're dealing with raster (bitmap) graphics. This is what photoshop creates. You will want to use a vector image software, illustrator and fireworks are the most common, though the gimp (free) also has some vector support.

There is also the possibility of buying a logo. Posting in the graphics design competition forum with a small reward is a great, and pretty cheap, way to go. Make sure to give as much detail about what you're looking for as possible.

If you have a design budget, you can get a logo designed from some of the online design sites.

Remember that a good logo is one which:

- is scalable
- can be reproduced on all media
- is simple yet effective
- appeals to the demographic you're targetting
- only reads out the headline, not the whole story

Hi there Web Wonder,
if you want a logo at a very reasonable price, and a wide selection of designs and styles to choose from, all created by several different designers, then why not post in the Graphic Design Contest section of the forum????

Try GIMP, its free and you can do quite a bit with it. It should be more than enough for what you're after.
