Yeeehaaa I finally am getting a handle on text effects in Corel lol what do you think ..... I made me a new logo lol, theres loads of photoshop tutorials out there but really hard to find corel ones so I make do and use photoshop ones usually they turn out with the wrong effect though haha but I am happy with this one

What motivation could a person possibly have to pick Corel over Photoshop? Photoshop is the gold standard.

Hmm well for me really it was two reasons, one because thats what we used at the sign shop i worked at as well as signblazer and i know the program for that type of work and two cause dad bought it for me, personally i can't afford photoshop so its simple really, lol and it has very much the same features as illustrator which is the other program i use, i do alot of vector art

I'm looking at corel Draw - not sure which version though as I'm hunting on ebay to find a package I can afford.

Shydroxide, I would absolutely adore having photoshop and illustrator, afferaffects and the whole nine yards. However, I'm a on a tight budget and simply cannot afford it. If anyone has an older, "registerable" version they aren't using any more, I would be happy to take it off your hands

i think it depends on your skill of the program, as i see many people are vectoring with illustrator, althought i am still able to do very good vector with photoshop and continue to use it, because the techniques in there is easy to me.

Illustrator is a vector drawing program. That is why so many people are using it. Though you can do some vector stuff in Photoshop, it isnt a vector program. So, just be careful. You might accidentally do some things in Photoshop that you think are vector, that really arent. Photoshop is a great program though.

I havent used any of the Corel design software. It might be something I look into someday. I have student versions of everything (Adobe CS2, Macromedia MX everything) right now since I am still in college. But when I get out of school, it is going to be difficult to afford all this software!!

Anyway - Woosh, I really like the effects you made. They look great! (I also like your avatar. My sister and I love the nightmare before Christmas. I wanna go see it in 3D, but no theatres around here are showing it.)

I use Corel12 borzoid which has Draw, Photo Paint, Rave, Capture, Barcode Wizard and Trace, its pretty versatile for a graphics suite lol and i am no where near using it to the extent i could be yet, thanks angele hehe yea i love Tim Burtons stuff, heres another logo i made for a forum will tweak it a bit more until I am happy with it

Yea i know lol i haven't really played in the Photo Paint part of the program lol have been using photshop tuts and trying to find the equivilants in corel lol i will have another go at it

lol if i was rich and had the spare time i would be using photoshop... i know i know lol but i use what i have

youre pretty darn good woosh! id suggest to just keep at it - the more you use a piece of software the better you get.

Lol woosh... yes but every program has its limitations soon woosh wont be able to do anything new with corel because it is very limated in what it can do and one day u might have to move to photoshop lol... i donno but i think i got an old version of photoshop 7 lying around if anyone wants it lol.
