Very good work. You should continue work on it making sure limbs are as separate movieclips and moving the centre spot to the joints so you can animate it. Also work on phoneme shapes to animate his moth and face. Animating that little bugger would look awesome.

well if your talking about out of a picture, thats tracing, so it will be alot easier, you have to have the real image just above the background layer, from there you make more layers using the pen tools to create shapes, and whenever you want to see parts of the old image, you can always do hide and show. for this image, i mainly just did alot shapes of coloring, at the eyes, face so that it wasnt looking so flat.
