I don't seem to be able to get a .gif banner to display in IE7. It's a static banner with no moving parts, and I've tried changing it to .jpg but this makes no difference.

Any thoughts?

you shouldnt have a problem displaying it in IE7. Does it work in other browsers? What does your code look like?

Hi,

Yeah it seems to work in all other browsers, well I've tried IE6 and Firefox, but it just won't display in IE7. Code is as follows:

<h2 align="center"><a href="http://www.gear-zonekids.co.uk" target="_blank"><span class="style7"></span><img src="new_gifs/Kids-Nowopen.gif" alt="www.gear-zonekids.co.uk" width="468" height="60" border="0"></a> </h2>

Thanks

hmmm, it looks okay to me. My only question is why do you have a style there and is there anything in that style (style7) that could be messing with the diplay of your image?

The image isn't enclosed in the <span> tags.

XHTMLify it. <img />. <---doit.

Nevertheless, the empty <span> is sloppy coding and should be removed if you're not going to use it. Even if you ARE going to put something in there, use a CSS class and get rid of the <span>.

H2 "align="center" -- also sloppy coding.. use CSS and use text-align: center in rules for h2
h2{text-align: center}.
IE 7 has no problem with Gif's.. something else is affecting it. If we could see ALL of the code and CSS it would be easier to debug. Got a link to the page ??
