help me choose a good logo please




we are a Chinese pharmaceutical company called Simcere (Pharma), as you may see name orginates from Sincere.

I posted five logos and Logo A is our current logo with a green flag and it chinese name. The logo has been used for 12 years.

We want to develop a logo 100% in English. However we hope, though not necessarily, leave the flag in new logo.

Finally we come out 4 options. Can I have your opinion, which is better at the point of western style or have any better idea?

I like E it looks more like an actual logo and not just words

yes, we all like A.

However we hope to have a new logo, which looks more international, therefore,
may leave off the Chinese character.

you should just keep the same logo, replace the chinese words with simcere in a different front but same size as the chinese,

D seems like a hurredly developed concept and is quite unimaginative.
E though nice, is a bit too "high-tech" for a company in the pharma industry.
C is too generic.

B is good derivation of A and imho, should be persisted with. If you want something new, go for some different typeface options.

B with a different font, something cleaner and more professional looking.

I prefer the logo A .
coz I knew this pharmaceutical company in China.

E and then D as my second choice.

good idea, however it might be not good when the logo is very small typed.

The font in logo F is really to skewed.





Some of you may not know the story why the company want to change the logo and want to know more about it.

It is a local Chinese pharmaceutical Company. The company initiatied its business since 1995. The company develops relatively fast in China in recent years and its sales is over 100 million RMB, ie, more than 13 million USD, a middle sized company.

The original logo of the company, logo A, consists of the flag icon and Simcere. Original explanations of the logo are: green color represents life and health; the running people reprensents the sprit of leading, running, deligent; Simcere, transitioned from simcere, means the company want to be sincere to life, to customer, to employee; most important is the pronuncition of Simcer is similar to its Chinese name, also means leading.

As you may guess the company performas quite well in China and attract investment from Lenovol (who buyed IBM). At the cross road of development the company want to a little more internaitonal as it grows. The company owns the first novel anti-cancer drug called Endostar, a kind of Endostatin. Endostatin was found by Dr Judah Folkman of Boston Children Hospital. The commerce of the drug failed in USA in 2004.

For the purpose of communicate internationally the company want to take a more western style logo.

All are good choices... A and G appeal to me the most.

D and E are looking great (can't read chinese too well you know)

I like E. It has movement. It's light. It's modern. I think these are things that are important in today's business world. The reason you would not choose the others is that in the observer's eye, there isn't enough movement, the lettering and the placement of the ornaments is heavy and fixed.

i have to go with C, the line of work your in it needs to be subtle, the brand comes 2nd to the product itself
